The triple accredited (EQUIS, AACSB, AMBA) university offers a stimulating and well-equipped research environment with a large network ranging from start-ups and SMEs to large corporations for engaging in field studies. We are seeking an excellent early-career scholar with a clear research focus at the intersection of management practices and AI technologies. The thematic focus of this position lies in the field of business information systems, especially management of Generative & Agentic AI within organizations. We are looking for a colleague who complements and enriches our areas of expertise and methodological competencies within the field of Information Systems. The ideal candidate should demonstrate expertise in these areas and be capable of developing innovative, practice-oriented, and interdisciplinary research and teaching on how AI transforms business models, decision-making, and organizational processes. To be considered for this position, applicants should have completed (or be close to completing) a doctoral degree (PhD) in Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline. We expect the successful candidate to demonstrate strong potential for publishing in leading international journals (e.g., FT 50, VHB A+/A), influential books, or top-tier conferences, and to have established close links with relevant research and executive communities. The candidate should conduct internationally recognized research with a clear pipeline of high-quality publications and show methodological breadth across quantitative, qualitative, or design-oriented approaches - ideally including experimental research (lab, field, and online) and/or innovative computational or interdisciplinary methods. The position requires teaching at all levels (Bachelor, Master, and ideally Executive Education), preferably in German and English, and the ability to design innovative and digital learning formats that bridge management and technology. Experience in Executive Education as well as in acquiring thirdparty funding (e.g., SNF, Innosuisse, industry cooperation) is a strong advantage. The new professor will be invited to become part of a dynamic team at the Institute of Information Systems and Digital Business (IWI-HSG), which focuses on research in areas such as digital transformation, data-driven decision-making, and AI management, with the goal of generating impact in both the scientific community and practice.
